SUMMARY:Cancelled-Dublin Lean Network - Best Practice Site Visit - Alexion Dublin

With the potential risks Alexion’s manufacturing facilities posed by the recent Covid-19 outbreak\, we are aiming to minimize the flow of people into Alexion’s facilities\, this is being done to ensure the continued supply of their medicines to patients. From generating ideas\, developing a culture open to change and showcasing success stories. \nParticipants will gain an understanding of what it is like to begin a Lean Journey and will learn from people who have gone through the process. \nThis event is recommended for any company in the Dublin area that is looking to kick off a lean manufacturing process and is struggling to figure out how. \nPlease note\, spaces are limited to two people per company. SUMMARY:Managing Energy Workshop 2020
DESCRIPTION:TZC invite you to attend our workshop presenting leading-edge solutions dealing with the switch to a low carbon economy.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\nOn February 27th Toward Zero Carbon (TZC) will host our Managing Energy 2020 workshop at our offices in Thurles. We would be delighted if you could attend as we are confident the event will add significant value to your organisation. \nThroughout the industrialised world\, management teams and their colleagues are faced with two real threats to their competitiveness: – \n\nClimate Change\nDigitalisation\n\nMarket forces are dictating that processing plants demonstrate their progress toward transferring to low carbon operations. The concept of Net Zero Carbon is currently entering the everyday vocabulary of operational / marketing managers. \nTZC have recognised that the effective deployment of digitalisation (Industry 4.0 \, Big Data etc.) will make a significant contribution to meeting the climate change challenge. \nWe are working with Smart Factory to deliver an integrated solution for one of our major multi national clients. \nThe system will incorporate localised display screens showing live data\, a comprehensive compliance reporting package and a web based energy management system compliant with ISO 50001:2018 (International energy management standard). \nDuring the day will go through the system and we share our experiences with you. \nSelf-Assessment – Big Data \nYou will\, also\, have the option of completing a self-assessment tool which will give you an indication of your position on your journey to being able to exploit big data. Brendan Sheppard (CEO Smart Factory) who is one of the most experienced practitioners globally will be on hand to guide you through your assessment \nRenewable Energy \nGas Networks Ireland (GNI) have launched their “Vision 2050” whereby they outline their ambition to deliver a “net zero” gas network. This will include biomethane\, abated natural gas and hydrogen. Hugh Murphy (GNI) will explain each of these actions and the planned journey to their maximisation \nThe support scheme for renewable heat is a tariff support mechanism that extends for 15 years. It provides an ideal opportunity to increase your renewable fraction by switching to biomass which is a carbon neutral fuel. \nBased on Extensive experience as a supply chain manager\, TZC have launched Biolight which is a provider of community sourced energy. Our fuel is grown\, processed and consumed locally. Conor Casey will go through the Biolight process and outline the company’s ambition to facilitate the switch away from fossil fuel. \nBradley Martin of OMNI Heat and Power will host a workshop to help you evaluate your suitability for a full or partial switch to Biomass \nCarbon Offsets \nFor the foreseeable future\, there will be a fraction of your energy requirement which is derived from fossil fuel. Pierce Mahne from ACT Commodities will explain the intricacies of the offset market\, its dangers and likely costs.
