You don’t have to have all of the answers. \nYou just need to know how to set direction and help support your team to move in that direction\, without giving them all the answers. \nHow can you do this? \nBecome a leader who develops their people\, and who aligns their purpose with their actions in service of creating an organization where everyone is engaged in solving problems. \nIn this 90 minute interactive session\, leadership coach Katie Anderson will highlight the fundamentals of intentional leadership and share insights from supporting leaders around the globe to create people-centered learning organizations. \nYou will learn how the practices of purpose\, intention\, and reflection will help you align your purpose and your actions in service of creating an organization where everyone is aligned with purpose and engaged in solving problems. \nYou will explore the factors that limit organizational problem-solving\, and how leaders can balance providing challenges with support\, and when to tell (be directive) with when to ask. You will discover how to own your expertise while cultivating the thinking of others and how unconscious habits can impede leaders in achieving high levels of team performance and innovation. \nInformed by her work and her bestselling book Learning to Lead\, Leading to Learn: Lessons from Toyota Leader Isao Yoshino on a Lifetime of Continuous Learning\, Katie will share examples and practices that will help you align your purpose and your actions\, and how to develop learning in yourself\, your teams\, and your organization.\nYou will leave the session inspired to take action to lead with intention and a defined goal of how to amplify your impact with your teams and organization. \nBe prepared for interactive breakout discussions and active participation throughout the session. You will be sent instructions for a 5-10 minute preparation exercise to complete before the session. \nIn this session you will:\n• Be introduced to the Leading to Learn leadership framework (set direction\, provide support\, develop yourself) and how it supports a people-centered learning culture\n• Understand what it means to connect intention\, purpose and reflection as the foundation of learning\n• Be exposed to the continuums leaders and coaches must navigate to support the development of their people and create an organization where everyone is engaged in solving problems\n• Learn how you can amplify your impact by not having to be the expert with all the answers\n• Leave with a defined goal for your personal improvement and three practices to help you lead with intention \nAbout Katie Anderson \n \nKatie Anderson is an internationally recognized leadership and learning coach\, consultant\, and professional speaker\, best known for inspiring individuals and organizations to lead with intention\, and increase their personal and professional impact. \nKatie is passionate about helping people around the world learn to lead and lead to learn by connecting purpose\, process\, and practice to achieve higher levels of performance. SUMMARY:Enterprise Ireland- Sustainability: ICT & Services: Climate Enterprise Action Fund
DESCRIPTION:Has your business started its sustainability journey? Do you have a climate action plan to help decarbonise your business? If the answer to these questions is ‘NO’\, then this webinar may be for you. \nThe transition to a low carbon world has become a defining force for business. For Irish companies\, this means opportunities to compete and grow as global investments in a sustainable future accelerates. \nICT has the capability to address many of the problems in our society\, including the threat from climate change. SUMMARY:Mid-West Lean Network Workshop 3: Value Stream Mapping
DESCRIPTION:[button color=”undefined” hover_text_color_override=”undefined” url=”https://www.shannonchamber.ie/events/mid-west-lean-network-workshop-3-value-stream-mapping/” text=”Register Here” color_override=””] \nIn order to create flow\, you must first see it. One of the best tools to see flow is value stream mapping. Value stream mapping is a visualization method of mapping the flow of value from raw material to customer. \nThe topic for Workshop #3 is Value Stream Mapping \nValue stream mapping is performed in the following manner: \n\nSelect product family\nCreate current state map\nCreate a future state map\, using lean techniques\nCreate an implementation plan for future state\nImplement the future state through structured continuous improvement activities.\n\nValue stream maps are created on the shop floor to identify process steps (process starting and ending points\, where flow stops\, and inventory accumulates). Data is gathered and documented on each process step\, cycle time\, changeover time\, uptime & number of operators. \nAs the future state map is developed\, targeted improvements will be found\, and a kaizen (star burst\, Continuous Improvement) event can be placed on that area. An implementation plan can comprise kaizen events\, tying each improvement to a business objective as a physical measurable goal is established to highlight when the goal is attained. Eventually\, a future state map will become the current state as the process continuously improves. \nValue stream mapping is an excellent way to get everyone to see their value stream and agree to eliminate waste. \nPresenters: \n\nMichelle Holland\, Head of HR/Transformation \, Cara Partners\nJennifer Stratton\, Lean Specialist\, Reagecon\n\nThis session is Free of Charge\, but registrations is essential.  \nThe link to join this webinar will be shared via email a day before the event. \nThe Mid-West Lean Network: the second largest regional lean network in Ireland\, after Waterford Institute of Technology’s Lean Enterprise Excellence Group\, launched in November\, was set up to strengthen and increase the existing culture of lean within the Shannon and the wider Mid-West region. Its aim is to enable each industry to broaden and strengthen their competitiveness through knowledge sharing and bench-marking against each other and different industries.

SUMMARY:IEA- Sustainable Supply Chains Training Programme
DESCRIPTION:IEA- Sustainable Supply Chains Training Programme\n \nThe Climate Action Bill 2021 legislates for the ambitious targets of reducing Ireland’s greenhouse gas emissions by 51% by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. This will require a significant change in the economy and every sector will be required to play its part. \nCompanies involved in importing and exporting goods and services face the unique challenge of accounting for and reducing emissions not just directly emitted through manufacturing or onsite energy use\, but also indirectly from their supply chains. Businesses who act early and adopt sustainable supply chain practices will ensure they are prepared for legislative requirements on accounting for their carbon footprint\, as well as benefiting from a greener public image and availing of new opportunities in the emerging green economy. \nThe IEA Sustainable Supply Chain training programme has been specially developed to offer practical\, actionable support to companies in relation to their supply chain emissions. The programme involves a series of half-day workshops designed to bring companies on a journey from understanding their carbon emissions right through to the practical steps needed to measure\, report and reduce their supply chain emissions\, and to adopt more sustainable procurement practices. Participants will each receive practical carbon measurement and reduction tools from the Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) for adoption within their organisations. \nThe programme is suitable for companies of any size and sector\, from companies just starting their sustainability journey to organisations further down the road to carbon neutrality who will benefit from integrating our sustainable supply chain tools into their existing sustainability strategies. \nThe IEA is offering a special introductory fee for one workshop: \nIEA Members: €250 / Non-Members: €350 \n  \nSustainable Supply Chains Programme:\n\nCarbon Literacy – 20/05/21\nCarbon Calculation and Reporting – 26/05/21\nCarbon Reduction – 09/06/21\nSustainable Procurement (Coming Soon)\n\n\n\n\nCourse Bundle Deals: Members (Special Introductory Offer) \n2 workshops: €450 \n3 workshops: €600 \nNon-Members (Special Introductory Offer) \n2 workshops: €600 \n3 workshops: €850\n\n\n\nFor more information or if you have any questions please contact Karen Hennessy or Paul Corbett on 01 661 2182 or training@irishexporters.ie

SUMMARY:EPA: Irish Manufacturing Research
DESCRIPTION:EPA: Irish Manufacturing Research\nIMR – PROBOT – The PROBOT project was undertaken by Irish Manufacturing Research (IMR) and Irish Composites Centre (IComp). The aim of this research was to investigate the potential uptake of a new composite created by IComp using Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) to create a Self-Reinforced Polymer\, as opposed to the Polypropylene Self Reinforced Polymers which are currently utilised on the market in various industries. It was decided to carry out research with PET because it is a material that is widely recycled. Such a polymer could therefore be created in part with recycled PET and thus be more circular \nDetails below:
